YouTube Terms of Service. TubeStats uses YouTube API Services. By using TubeStats, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You also agree to our Privacy Policy.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TubeStats Android application, related widgets and notifications, and the website at stats.tzstudios.app (together, the “Service”).
The Service is provided by TZ Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”). Contact: hello@tzstudios.app · 58 Dan Pienaar Dr, Amanzimtoti, Durban, 4126, South Africa.
By downloading, installing, signing in to, or using TubeStats, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use TubeStats for a channel you do not own, you must have authority from the channel owner to grant the Google / YouTube permissions we request.
You must be old enough to hold a Google account and to consent to YouTube API access in your country (YouTube’s own rules typically require 13+). The Service is offered from South Africa and is not a consumer credit, banking, or investment product.
2. YouTube, Google, and other third-party terms
TubeStats uses YouTube API Services and Google Sign-In. In addition to these Terms, you agree to:
- the YouTube Terms of Service
- the Google Privacy Policy
- the Google Terms of Service
- Google Play’s terms when you download the app
YouTube and Google may change their terms, APIs, quotas, or scopes. We do not control YouTube Studio, Google accounts, or API availability. If Google or YouTube limits, rate-limits, or withdraws an API, parts of TubeStats may stop working without any refund obligation on us (the app is offered free of charge, supported by ads).
TubeStats’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use.
3. What TubeStats is — and is not
TubeStats lets you sign in with Google and view your YouTube channel statistics on Android, including home-screen widgets and optional notifications.
With your consent, the app reads:
- channel information through the YouTube Data API (
youtube.readonly) — such as subscriber count, views, videos, and channel statistics - creator analytics through the YouTube Analytics API — such as views, watch time, and subscriber performance
- estimated revenue and related monetary analytics (
yt-analytics-monetary.readonly), if you grant that scope
Read-only. TubeStats cannot upload, edit, delete, comment on, or otherwise manage your YouTube content or channel settings. It is not YouTube Studio, not a payment processor, and not tax, legal, or financial advice. Estimated revenue is YouTube’s figure, not a guarantee of payouts.
Widgets and notifications depend on Android, battery restrictions, network access, and YouTube API quotas. Figures may be delayed or cached. We do not promise real-time or uninterrupted accuracy.
4. Your account and permissions
You must sign in with a Google account that can authorise the YouTube scopes TubeStats requests. You are responsible for:
- keeping that Google account secure
- only connecting channels you are allowed to access
- complying with YouTube’s rules for that channel
- any activity that occurs through your signed-in session on the device
You can disconnect at any time using Sign out / Disconnect in TubeStats, by uninstalling the app, or by revoking TubeStats at Google Account permissions. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or refuse access if we reasonably believe you are misusing the Service, violating these Terms or YouTube’s terms, or putting API access at risk.
5. Licence to use TubeStats
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use TubeStats on Android devices you own or control, solely to view analytics for channels you are authorised to access.
You must not:
- copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the app except where the law allows
- redistribute, resell, sublicense, or wrap TubeStats as your own product
- scrape YouTube, bypass API quotas, or use TubeStats to collect other people’s analytics without authorisation
- probe, overload, or interfere with YouTube API Services or our website
- use TubeStats to build a competing aggregated YouTube-insights product from other creators’ Authorized Data
- remove proprietary notices or misrepresent the source of YouTube data
All rights we do not expressly grant are reserved.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, abuse YouTube or Google services, harass others, or circumvent security or quota limits. You must not submit malware, automated bulk requests beyond ordinary personal widget use, or content we did not ask for that is unlawful.
You remain solely responsible for your YouTube channel, your content, your tax and monetisation obligations, and your compliance with YouTube policies (including spam, impersonation, and copyright).
7. Advertising and the free app
TubeStats is free to download and contains ads served by Google (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob). Ads may use device identifiers as described in the Privacy Policy. YouTube Authorized Data is not used to target those ads.
We may change, add, or remove ads, features, or the Play listing at any time. We do not promise that any particular widget, metric, or revenue view will remain available forever.
8. Intellectual property
TubeStats, the TubeStats name and marks, and this website are owned by TZ Studios or its licensors. YouTube, YouTube logos, and YouTube data remain YouTube / Google property and are shown under YouTube’s branding and API rules. Your channel content remains yours (and/or YouTube’s, as between you and YouTube).
Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that statistics, estimated revenue, watch time, subscriber counts, or widget refreshes are complete, current, or error-free. YouTube is the source of API Data. Outages, quota limits, revoked tokens, Android restrictions, and network issues can delay or stop updates.
Nothing in TubeStats is financial, tax, or legal advice. Do not rely on in-widget revenue as official YouTube payout records.
If consumer law in your country gives you non-excludable rights, those rights still apply. These Terms only limit warranties and liability to the extent that law allows.
10. Limitation of liability and indemnity
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TZ STUDIOS AND ITS OPERATORS, OFFICERS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO ZAR 0 (THE APP IS FREE) OR, IF A COURT REQUIRES A HIGHER MINIMUM, THE SMALLEST AMOUNT THAT LAW ALLOWS.
You agree to indemnify and hold TZ Studios harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising out of your misuse of the Service, your YouTube channel, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of YouTube or Google terms, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
We are not liable for Google’s, YouTube’s, Cloudflare’s, AdMob’s, or your device manufacturer’s acts or omissions.
11. Changes, suspension, and ending the Service
We may change these Terms by posting an updated version at stats.tzstudios.app/terms and updating the date above. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notice you (for example in the app or on this site). Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you do not agree, sign out and uninstall.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, including if YouTube API access is restricted. You may stop using TubeStats at any time.
Sections that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
12. Governing law, disputes, and general
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any non-excludable consumer rights, the courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction, and you agree to the courts sitting in KwaZulu-Natal.
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace prior terms about TubeStats. We may assign the Service in connection with a reorganisation or sale. You may not assign these Terms. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. There are no third-party beneficiaries except as required by YouTube / Google terms that protect those parties.
If these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict on a data-protection point, the Privacy Policy controls for that point.
