Privacy policy.

This policy explains what TubeStats accesses, why, where it is stored, who receives it, how advertising works, and how you can disconnect or delete data. TubeStats uses YouTube API Services.

By signing in to TubeStats you agree to this Privacy Policy. You can read it at any time at stats.tzstudios.app/privacy. Our Terms of Use also apply.

1. Who we are

TubeStats is operated by TZ Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”), the developer of the Android app TubeStats (package com.tzstudios.youtubestatspro).

2. YouTube API Services

TubeStats uses YouTube API Services to show your own channel statistics. By using TubeStats you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

TubeStats’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Information we access and collect

TubeStats only asks for the access it needs to show your channel on your phone. We do not ask for your Google password. Authentication is handled by Google Sign-In.

You authenticate with your Google account. Depending on the consent screen Google shows you, TubeStats may receive:

We use this only to sign you in, keep the session alive, and associate widgets and notifications with the correct Google / YouTube account.

3.2 YouTube Data API — youtube.readonly

With your consent, TubeStats accesses channel information through the YouTube Data API using the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly. That can include:

With your consent, TubeStats accesses creator analytics through the YouTube Analytics API using https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly. That can include:

If you grant it, TubeStats accesses estimated revenue and related monetisation metrics through https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics-monetary.readonly. That can include estimated revenue, monetisation progress, and similar monetary analytics YouTube returns for your channel.

Revenue figures shown in TubeStats are YouTube’s estimates. They are not tax, accounting, or payout records.

If you visit stats.tzstudios.app, our host (Cloudflare) may process ordinary web logs such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL. This website does not receive your YouTube Authorized Data. We also load fonts from Google Fonts.

4. How we use this information

We use the information above only to operate TubeStats for you:

We do not use YouTube Authorized Data to train models, to build products unrelated to showing you your own stats, to sell data, or to target advertising.

5. Read-only access — what TubeStats cannot do

TubeStats requests read-only YouTube scopes. It cannot and does not:

Disconnecting TubeStats does not change anything stored on YouTube. To change or delete data on YouTube, use YouTube or YouTube Studio.

6. OAuth tokens

After you sign in, Google issues access tokens and, where applicable, refresh tokens. TubeStats stores those tokens on your device (in the app’s private storage and/or through Android / Google Play Services account APIs) so widgets and notifications can refresh without asking you to sign in every time.

Tokens are used only to call Google Sign-In and YouTube API Services for the purposes in this policy. We do not upload your access or refresh tokens to a TZ Studios server. TubeStats does not operate a cloud backend that stores your YouTube OAuth tokens.

Tokens remain on the device while you stay signed in. They are revoked and deleted when you sign out or disconnect in the app, and they become unusable if you revoke TubeStats in your Google Account.

7. Storage and caching

To make widgets and notifications fast, TubeStats caches Authorized Data on the device, including:

Cached stats are refreshed when the app or a widget updates — typically every 15 to 60 minutes, subject to Android battery and quota limits. Cached YouTube API Data is not kept longer than needed to show current widgets. In any event, TubeStats refreshes or deletes stored API Data at least every 30 days, and it re-checks that your authorisation is still valid.

We do not store your YouTube Authorized Data on TZ Studios servers. Uninstalling TubeStats removes the app’s local cache and tokens from that device.

8. Third parties that receive data

TubeStats does not sell your data. The only parties that receive data in connection with TubeStats are listed here. If we add another service that receives user or app data, we will update this policy first.

TubeStats does not send YouTube Authorized Data to Firebase, Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, a TZ Studios API backend, or any other analytics or crash service. Those products are named here only to make that absence clear.

Authorized Data is shown only to you (and anyone who can see your unlocked phone / home screen). We do not display your private analytics to other users.

9. Advertising

TubeStats contains ads. Third-party advertising is served by Google Mobile Ads / AdMob.

The ads SDK may store, access, or collect information directly or indirectly from your device — including advertising ID, IP address, device type, approximate location derived from IP, and similar identifiers or cookies / SDK storage — to serve, measure, and combat fraud on ads.

YouTube Authorized Data is not used to personalise, target, or measure ads. We do not sell subscriber counts, watch time, revenue, or other YouTube analytics to advertisers.

You can reset or opt out of ad personalisation in Android settings (Google > Ads) and at adssettings.google.com. Google’s ad practices are also covered by the Google Privacy Policy and Google advertising technologies.

10. Disconnect, revocation, and deletion

YouTube requires an easy way to revoke access. You have all of the following:

Use Sign out or Disconnect in the app. That is the in-app revocation control. When you use it, TubeStats:

On the device

Uninstalling TubeStats deletes the app’s local cache, widget data, and stored tokens from that device.

From your Google Account

In addition to TubeStats’ own deletion steps, you can revoke TubeStats’ access at any time on Google’s security settings page:

When you revoke access there, TubeStats will stop being able to refresh your stats. We delete remaining Authorized Data associated with that consent as soon as possible and within 30 calendar days of that revocation (and within 7 days when you revoke inside the app).

By email

Email hello@tzstudios.app and ask us to delete any residual TubeStats data we hold about you. We will complete that as soon as possible and within 7 calendar days. Because YouTube Authorized Data is stored on-device, the fastest path is Sign out + uninstall; email is for confirmation or anything that might remain with us (for example a support email you sent).

Deleting TubeStats data does not delete anything on YouTube. To delete YouTube data, use YouTube or YouTube Studio.

11. Security, retention, children, and your rights

Security

We use industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS / TLS) for Google and YouTube API calls, keep tokens in private app storage, and request only read-only scopes. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Retention

On-device tokens and cached stats are kept only while you remain signed in and the app is installed, and are refreshed or deleted on the schedule in Storage and caching. Support emails we receive are kept only as long as needed to answer you.

Children

TubeStats is not directed at children under 13. YouTube accounts have their own age rules. Do not use TubeStats if you cannot consent to Google Sign-In and YouTube API access.

International transfers

Google and YouTube process API requests on Google’s infrastructure, which may be outside South Africa. This website is served via Cloudflare. By using TubeStats you understand those transfers are required to provide the service.

South Africa (POPIA) and similar rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, or object to certain processing. Contact hello@tzstudios.app. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes

If we start accessing, collecting, or using YouTube data in a way this policy does not cover, we will update this page and ask you to accept the new policy before that new use begins. The “Last updated” date at the top will change.
